Here is my schedule from yesterday morning:
5:50 AM: Wake up and get ready
6:50 AM: Take kids to sitter’s house
7:10 AM: Leave sitter’s house with son crying and sitter trying to calm him down
7:30 AM: Arrive at work
7:50 AM: E-mail from sitter comes in. E-mail says sitter’s kids are sick, come get kids.
What???? Is there a reason she couldn’t have told me that she wouldn’t be able to watch the kids when I was there?? So that I wouldn’t have to drive all the way to work??***
So I picked the kids up and all day tried to explain to them that even though I was home, that didn’t mean that I could play with them all day…I had to get some work done (we’re in our very busy time). Now don’t get me wrong, we played a lot…it was just there were times that I had to work too.
On a brighter note, Heather over at Shibby Shabby has graciously given me this award:
I’m so glad that I make someone smile! Thank you so much Heather!
***Edited to add that in her e-mail she had said that her one son and she had been sick since last week, and her other son had woken up sick (the one I saw walking around when I got there).

Are they back at the sitter's today?
That's odd. Maybe the kids didn't get sick until after you left?
Oh well.
Congrats on the award!
That's craptastic. I'm sure the kid was sick BEFORE you were there?!
Congrats on the award....
That's really annoying.
Ok, on a side note, I'm EXTREMELY jealous it only took you 20 minutes to get to work from your sitter's house. I'd pretty much kill for a commute like that.
That would have made me scream.
I hate getting to work, just getting started and then having to leave. Don't even get me started on the fact that you were just AT HER HOUSE. At least clue you in that there may potentially be a problem.
Congrats on the award! You make us all smile!
Oh my - how frustrating. I am jealous that it only takes you 20 minutes to get to work, though! :o)
Hope the sick germs didn't rub off on your kids.
You always make me smile!!! You so deserve the award, congrats.
Oh totally upsetting your sitter didn't give you a head's up at least. Dang just get working and have to leave. Good thing you can also work from home, isn't it?
We all know you don't neglect your children, even when you are working, so no need to explains.
So what happens for the rest of the week, is it guess each time when you drop the kids off??? I hope not for your sake.
So, why the heck couldn't she tell you that when you dropped the kids off? Strange.
I hope your kids don't catch it!
I'm sorry! That is rough having to go back and get them and then try to get anything done during the day while you are home! I hope everything is all sorted out and you'll be back to work soon! (and I hope the sick one didn't expose your kids to anything!)
