Last night turned out to be a fun night…
I had a really stressful day at work and actually made myself a margarita as soon as I got home. I started our steak marinating and headed outside to play with the kids. One of my daughter’s friends came out immediately to play with her and I just parked my chair by the swing set and watched them all play. The girl’s mom came over and we talked for a while as we waited for our hubbies to come home.
Once her hubby came home, they started having the dinner conversation. They couldn’t think of what to eat, so I offered for them to have dinner with us, I thought there should be enough. So we gathered at their house and had a total smorgasbord of food: steak, veggies, grapes, oranges, rice, salad and pineapple. Then we had brownies and ice cream for dessert. It was a fun little spontaneous dinner with friends.
When we came home, I put the kids in the bathtub and they wanted to play for a while. So I whipped out my magazine and started reading it while they played. I watched them for a while and noticed that they were on opposite sides of the tub playing completely separate games. My son was playing with the washcloth and pretending to make “buberries and stawberries” while my daughter was “cleaning” the bathtub and telling someone how to make a bath tub. I actually watched them for a while totally entertained!
This weekend will be fun…today I’m leaving work at lunch and we’re going apple picking. Then tomorrow morning the kids are getting their flu shots (they are not happy about this!) and then we’re heading over to the North Market for the Harvest Festival. My parents are coming up and meeting us there as well. Then tomorrow night we are having our friends that live two doors down and their girls over, along with a couple we all used to live by in our old house, and we’re going to have movie night! We’ll set up the projector in the playroom for the kids to watch a movie, and then the adults are going to watch Wild Hogs upstairs. Then on Sunday we have my niece’s dedication to go to. It’s going to be a very filled, but very fun weekend.
Anyone else have plans for the weekend? If not, feel free to come on over for movie night on Saturday :)

You have a perfect weekend planned....hope you guys have a great time!! :)
Sounds like a great weekend!! We don't have much planned for this weekend. I think we are gonna chill out for the most part. On Sunday, after church, we're planning on getting together with some friends so Hayden and the girls can watch the new Disney princess movie. Other than that, we won't be doing much!
Oh, I am supposed to scrapbook, again, on Saturday night! :) Did I mention I was a scrapbooking addict? ;)
No plans here for the weekend but darn too many mountains between us, to can't hook up with you!!!
Sounds like your impromptu dinner was great but aren't they the best kind? Plans can go wrong, but just "winging" it makes for tons of fun.
Flu shots huh? I am so sure the kids aren't looking forward to that one.
Oh apples, yum, so much you can make with them and such a great snack for little ones, and big ones too.
Enjoy your week-end, will be anxious to read about it on Monday and ( hint hint) maybe even see some pictures!!!
What a nice Thursday night and a fun weekend ahead!
As for the flu shots, in our house a trip to Ben & Jerry's makes it all better. Even better, my girls are now old enough for the flu mist, so there's no pain at all.
Ditto on what Edie said, we are scrapbooking together on Saturday night, then doing a Princess movie with other friends of ours after church on Sunday. And yes, we go to church together too....don't you want to live by us???!!
Sounds like the perfect fall weekend! We are going to a festival this weekend as well. Have a great time!
No big plans here. I am going to take Caleb out and about, who knows where, but I am sure we will end up at a park or playground. I would like to go to Target...
Anyway, have fun!!!
Sounds like a great weekend. We're planning on going to a pumpkin farm and taking a hayride with the boy.
