Good Family Time, Good Food!

What a great weekend that went by way too quickly!

Friday night hubby and I were able to go to dinner while my mom watched the kids. It was great to get out with him alone! Saturday we did some stuff around the house and played with the kids. We watched The Little Rascals for the first time and our kids loved it! My daughter’s new “bestest sister” is Darla :) Saturday night we headed to the scrapbooking store and the grocery store. In the scrapbooking store I gave my daughter a budget of $7, but her sweet little face and innocent switching of stickers led her to a purchase of $10 (she decided she’d give up a set of stickers in her hand that were $1 for another one that was $5…I couldn’t get her to see that one was more expensive). It was a lot of fun and the lady working there thought she was adorable just running around looking at all the different stickers.

Sunday we got to sleep in because we go to a fantastic church that doesn’t meet Sunday mornings…it meets Sundays at 4:30!!! It was so nice to not have to go out when it was 0 degrees out! So we slept in a little, had a great pancake breakfast, watched Little Rascals again and played. We did end up going to the mall as my daughter only had one pair of shoes that still fit her (which were her crocs) and even those were getting tight. This is the first time with either of them that the shoes I got them in the fall didn’t last until spring. I always thought I was very lucky with that, and it was confirmed again at Stride Rite yesterday as we paid more for her shoes than I would ever pay for my own shoes!

After the mall the kids took a nap while I got the pot roast cooking that
Edie talked about here and that the wonderful Pioneer Woman created. I’ve made a number of her recipes and she is absolutely fantastic! We got home from church to a wonderfully smelling house and a great dinner of pot roast, carrots, onions and mashed potatoes!

I hate that weekends go by so fast (what a cliché but it’s true). Hopefully with all the work I have this week the days will go by fast as well! I’m gearing up for a weekend scrap trip with some of my friends this coming weekend…my goal is to get my entire Disney trip scrapped! And before that I have dinner with friends on Wednesday, lunch with an old co-worker on Friday and lunch with a good friend one of the other days, all while trying to get a TON of work done. It will definitely be a busy week!

Oh yummy! I hope your roast turned out as good as mine did!!

We get H's shoes at Stride Rite too and they are so expensive. But, I think, at this age, it's worth putting $$ in shoes that you know are good for their feet. :)

I'm going on a scrapbooking weekend in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. I started getting organized this weekend!!

Sounds like a great weekend!

We get Jeffrey's shoes at Stride Rite (most of the time) and his physical therapist said that at this age it's worth the money. We pretty much will do whatever the PT tells us to do.

I'm so jealous of your scrap weekend. I have so many ideas and no time to put them in action. :)

Morgan's shoes come from Stride-Rite, too. She wears a 7 1/2 extra wide and it's SO hard to find those. She has sneakers, Timberland boots and snow boots...I cringe everytime I go in there for shoes :)

I'm not too into scrapping, but I'd love to be. Your weekend of scrapping sounds awesome!!

Glad you had such a nice weekend. They do whiz by, don't they? I was just thinking this weekend that we need to visit Strid Rite. My son LOVES his crocs and didn't want to wear anything but those this fall. Thus, he has a nearly new pair from Strid Rite that are now too small.

Seriously! Stride Rite is so expensive! I could never get over the fact that their shoes cost more than like 3 pairs of mine put together! My oldest 3 no longer wear stride rite but my youngest still does. I'll be happy when we are done with them for good!

I apologize I read your post earlier and then got so into Pioneer Woman's recipes that I never posted a comment. That is so not me!! Damn must have had a brain fart or two.
Stride Rite huh? wow my kids never had those, but I know they are the very best for children. Does that make me a bad mom?
Glad you had a good week end family time is the best isn't it?
You have a busy week coming up but hey to end it by scrapping , how fun. I have all the cutters etc and have hosted several parties. It's so much fun.
When you do your disney scrapbook, snap some pictures so we can see it PLEASE??!!!!
Don't work too hard this week!!
