When Will It End???

This pregnancy is killing me. Now don’t get me wrong, I know that there are lots of women out there that have it a lot harder than I do when it comes to being pregnant, but for me and my history, this one is definitely the worst.

I’m just over 15 weeks and I still feel nauseous all the time. Eating does not make that feel better like it did the past two times. I also feel like I’m digesting food too quickly. I’ll eat a normal sized lunch and an hour later my stomach is growling. Literally. And after I eat (even a small bowl of cereal) I feel so stuffed. I feel like I just ate a huge Thanksgiving meal when in reality I just had a sandwich or something like that. I was given a prescription that works really well, but the side effects are worse to me than the nauseous feeling, so I’ve stopped taking it.

I understand this stuff happens during the first trimester. I’m tired, have headaches, don’t feel well, etc. But it’s supposed to end! And it hasn’t yet! With my other two I was feeling a ton better by the end of week 13. Why does this one have to be so different? My honest thought is my age. I was 5 years younger when I was pregnant with my daughter…I’m sure the older you get, the more difficult pregnancy can be on your body (and no, I’m in no way implying that I’m “old” or anything like that…I just think it’s a different experience for my body compared to 5 years ago).

I’m really hoping that I start to feel better soon. It’s starting to get nice out and I just want to play outside! My poor kids don’t understand why it’s hard for me to play with them sometimes, and I haven’t really cooked a good meal in a long time.

When people around me ask me how I’m feeling, I so badly want to say that I’m feeling great, is that too much to ask?

Nope, not too much to ask. But, as you said: the important thing is you're able to have healthy babies. I agree that you're "older" than the last two babies and with the last two? You weren't chasing after two toddlers and, I think, you weren't AS stressed at work as you have been recently. It'll get better :)

Try and rest this weekend!!

My last pregnancy was the worst too. I always thought it was because he was a boy and maybe the extra testosterone was messing me up, but maybe it is just the 3rd pregnancy being more difficult? My pregnancy with him was so much more difficult than with the twins, which really surprised me!

I hope you start feeling better soon!

I felt the same way. I was still puking a week before my daughter was born. Yuck! Anyway, the thing that helped me with the hunger, nausea, and bloated after eating feeling (I had them all) was to eat protein and lots of it. I didn't feel like eating it but once I did, I felt so much better, I stayed full longer, and didn't feel so bloated!

Oh I am sorry you are so uncomfortable and well almost sluggish from not feeling well. It has to be hard on all of you, but yeah you mostly.
I don't have any wise advice or any kind of advice for you, wish I did.
I can only hope that this part of your pregnancy passes soon and then you can tell everyone that you do feel much much better.
Try to get as much rest as you can this weekend!!!!

Oh, I feel for you. I was sick 24/7 for the entire time. I can't even tell you how many hundreds of times I threw up (but still managed to gain 50 pounds!). One thing that I learned only as an off handed comment by my Dr. was that I had extremely LOW blood sugar. I did the gestational diabetes test and didn't hear anything so assumed I didn't have it and one visit a few weeks after that he was kind of joking, saying "well I guess you walked away from that one by a mile" and I asked what he meant and he said my blood sugar barely registered. Hmmmmmm... you'd have thought they would mention that. Anyway, he suggested I drink a couple glasses of gatorade every day and I did and it made me feel much better, bu not 100%. The orange tasted the best. By now - can't stand it for the life of me! I hope this passes soon. I so feel for you.

Wish I had some sage advice for you. If it helps, everyone always says that the baby is doing well when you are feeling crappy? I don't know. Here's to hoping the awfulness ends soon.

Your body is also trying to keep up with 2 kids this time, rather than one or none. I hope that in the coming weeks it gets better. Maybe once it gets warm and stays warm, that will help too.

I also think its the third pregnancy. Your body has just recovered from your last baby and now its doing it again. I know my 3rd was by FAR my hardest.
