The last couple of days have been very busy for me. Not just because it’s my busy time at work and we’re hopefully filing our 10-Q today, no, apparently I needed more stress in my life. We found out Monday that my boss is leaving our company next week. She is such a key person in this department, and as a team of 1, it’s left to me now until the controller figures out what she wants to do.

My position has been very difficult for me…in a good way. I’ve never done what I’m doing before, and in the almost 2 years that I’ve been doing what I’m doing I’ve learned a ton. But I have no where near the knowledge that my boss has (she’s about 8 years ahead of me age and school-wise). So there’s no way I would ever come close to feeling comfortable stepping into her shoes. But until they find a replacement, that’s what I have to do…and probably all through year-end and filing our 10-K (which is a huge, huge deal).

Our controller’s goal, as of now, is to promote me, put someone under me, and then still hire someone above me to do all of the high-high level stuff my current boss does. This is all just fine with me, but like I said, it probably won’t happen until February or March of next year. Which just sucks.

In happier news I had a
Lia Sophia jewelry party last night and it turned out really well! I had a lot more orders than I thought I would and now I’m picking out the pieces that I want to get for myself. But it was still a long night last night and it will be nice to have a night with nothing to do tonight!

I’m trying to keep up with all of you…I just may not be commenting as much due to the added work stress :)

Good luck with 10-K. I used to work on that for my company and it really is a huge deal. Congratulations on the promotion as well! I didn't know you were in accounting. That's what I used to do but I moved on to other areas now.

I am so sure you can step up and do the job. You know much more than you think you do and you can do it!!!!
What with all your experience and seeing what you boss did, it will come to you, so try to relax. Yeah I know easier said than done right?
When it gets too crazy picture Mickey Mouse and smile, take a deep breath and you can DO IT!!!
Glad your jewelry party was a success, see you can do anything!!! Believe in yourself!!

Just remember that you can only do what you can do. Try to leave the stress at work and relax when you're at home. Definitely don't worry about commenting on our sites (not that I don't appreciate it!) but we understand what's really important. We'll all be here when you calm down.
Glad the party was a success. Have fun picking out your pieces!

You'll get through this. And you'll be a hero in your company, I'm sure. Hang in there.

I totally understand the work related stress! Hang in there. You can do it and if you get to a point where you are just too overwhelmed, ask for help. I am sure your company would appreciate it if you let them know that you cannot handle everything rather than letting the work not get done or not get done right. I know that's how my boss is.
