Christmas Lists and A CONTEST!!!

It’s no secret to those who know me that I love to cook. Part of the reason that I love to cook is because I love good food, and therefore, I love to make good food. It’s funny, I don’t enjoy cooking an easy mac ‘n cheese meal, because to me, that’s not “good food” (don’t get me wrong, that is a family staple in our house, I just don’t love cooking it). But you want pot roast with homemade mashed potatoes, onions and carrots? I will gladly whip that up for you!

So in the past years, my Christmas list contains many cooking items. Last year my list consisted of a wok, a Panini pan, a pasta machine, wooden spoons, a fryer, spatulas and measuring spoons. I received all of those items and have used them more times than I can count (except for the pasta roller thing, but that’s only because I haven’t taken the time to learn how to make pasta yet, but I’m dying to try!). And John’s gift to me last year? A set of three fabulous, hard-core knives. One of the best presents he’s ever gotten me, and it wasn’t even on my list! This year I have some cooking items on my list again, but not as many as I really don’t need many more items.

One thing that I would love to get some day is a whole set of good pots and pans. I was searching
cookware sets and drooling over the Calphalon sets. I’m very lucky in that I do have a bunch of Calphalon pans (all pretty much given to me at my wedding), and I love them. But not all of my pans are Calphalons, and sometimes those pans that aren’t make me angry :).

In the spirit of giving, the awesome people over at
http://www.cookware.com/ have given me a $30 gift certificate to give away to one lucky reader! All you have to do is leave a comment to this post telling me what item you would love to have from http://www.cookware.com/ by Midnight, EST on Wednesday, December 9th, and I will randomly pick one person to win the gift certificate!

I have browsed the site, and being the avid cooker that I am, everything looks so wonderful! I keep drooling over my Shun knives (seriously, if you ever want good knives, I LOVE them!) and hoping that maybe John will get me another one for Christmas. And if you want a good Panini pan, they have my Calphalon one on sale with free shipping! I have yet to make an actual “Panini,” but I use the pan all the time for grilled cheese! The kids even ask me to make it in that pan as opposed to a normal skillet.

So go to the site and look around…you will find some great deals! You can Christmas shop and maybe get yourself a little something too! And leave a comment to be entered in the drawing for the $30 gift certificate!

Awesome site and a Panini pan has been a wish of mine since I first heard of it!!!! AHHHHHHHH I have hinted to hubby but mmm I don't think he gets it, but yes it's on my list again this year.
I am with you all the way, love to cook huge meals , eg Thanksgiving, and want to feed everyone that wants food!!! Roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, veggie, salad and rolls my favorite dinner. Love some of the Amish recipes too. I have 3 Amish cook books and love to experiment!! :)
I have a set of pots and pans hubby got me one year an love them. "Culinary Integrity" is the name of the set. My son in law wants a set and dang we can't find them again, so frustrating. But Ron got them from QVC so maybe it was a one time shot, not sure.
Have a great day and wouldn't it be nice to get together, cook up a storm and just chat to our hearts delight?? I for one would love it!!

See, I'm the sort that heads straight to the baking stuff and drools over cake pans. Which is silly because really, doesn't anyone NEED more cake pans? I mean, do I actually have a legit reason to need a beehive cake pan. No. But I'm sure I could come up with a non-legit reason...

While I am a gadget person myself. Who can have enough slotted spoons and corn on the cob knobs? Me I guess...LOL--altough most of them have been lost, misplaced, left or whatever. This past week I learend Pots and Pans would be on the Christmas list so I decided to go with what my husband said he would really want and that would be the
Presto Cool Touch Electric Tilt' N' Drain Big Griddle . We have this tiny little griddle that hubby has had since the college days. With our growing family, he wants us to be able to eat together and not have one of us making pancakes or waffles and the other eating with the kids. We, like you, LOVE to eat together as a family as much and as often as we can. It has been a family priority since we got married. Speaking of dinner? Do we opt to not have a December dinner or did we decide on a date?

Cool website Debbie! I always ask for cooking things for Christmas. I have heard a lot of women complain when their husbands get them something for the kitchen for their birthdays or Christmas and I don't understand that!! I love to cook and bake and anything that will make my job easier or the food better, than bring it on :) Personally I would love to get a pasta maker. I am all about fresh ingredients and products and I would love to make my own pasta instead of buying it.

I can understand why you love your knives so much after my recent debauchal of cutting my finger with my super dull knife due to the amount of force I had to use! So what I would love to have is the 12 piece Chicago cutlery block. Have with all your Christmas cooking :)

I would love some bakeware. I just never feel like I have time to bake. I typically make chocolate candy models for Christmas and other holidays. (Some melting, pour in the mold, then freezer..very quick for a little one that takes short naps) Christmas does get the special white chocolate with peppermint...ohh so good. So can the cookies come with the bakeware?

I'm like you, I would LOVE an entire new set of cookware. I've looked at several and really am not sure what kind yet. The ones I currently have are all mismatched and getting old. At least they do the job though!

Oh, an would should I come by for that pot roast??
